Transitioning from BAS to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: Hajster's successful experience

Press release
May, 2026

Hajster abandoned BAS and switched to a solution Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The transition project was completed Alternative Association of Business Automatizers (ASAB) and the company MSBC, specializing in the implementation package solutions developed on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, by the company Innoware.

Heyster – innovative startup company Sahara, founded in 2000, which was one of the first to offer the Ukrainian market advanced European and global energy-efficient technologies based on renewable energy sources. Today, the company has 23 years of experience in the design and installation of climate systems, and all this potential has been invested in the development of the innovative Ukrainian heat pump Hajster.

Organizational prerequisites

The use of the functionally limited and dangerous accounting system of Russian origin BAS Accounting CORP, as well as the desire to have nothing to do with the aggressor country, became an impetus for the management of Hajster to search for a modern, reliable, innovative, international solution capable of providing the necessary functionality for a manufacturing company, deep analytics of business processes, transparent accounting, personnel accounting and payroll calculation "in one click".

Choosing a solution and implementation partner

Hajster management approached the choice of a new solution with the utmost responsibility, having analyzed and tested a significant number of accounting systems from different manufacturers. A mandatory condition for the software was the availability of Ukrainian localization, which includes not only accounting and tax accounting, but also compliance with legislation in terms of personnel accounting and payroll.

Based on the results of a detailed analysis, Hajster management chose the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP system as the most flexible and modern solution that fully meets the business requirements of the enterprise and allows working within a single Microsoft ecosystem.

Unfortunately, Hajster's first experience of working with one of the Dynamics 365 Business Central providers was unsuccessful, but the company did not stop there and was not disappointed in the chosen solution, but turned to Innoware – a certified Microsoft partner, whose team implements projects using its own methodology, developed based on more than 25 years of local and international experience in implementing ERP and CRM solutions Microsoft Dynamics 365, and has over 500 successfully implemented projects in its portfolio.

Based on this experience, Innoware specialists developed a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preconfigured package solutions: «"IW Finance+"»"IW Trade" and «"IW HR&Payroll"», which are fully adapted to the needs of domestic small and medium-sized businesses and allow them to conduct activities in accordance with the tax and accounting legislative norms of Ukraine.

As a result, Hajster management opted for packaged/preconfigured solutions. "IW Trade" and «"IW HR&Payroll"», but defined the following requirements for organizing the implementation process:

  • «"Minimum modifications." Implementation of package solutions exclusively in the basic configuration.
  • Active involvement of the internal team in all stages of implementation, both in the process of gathering requirements and customization, and in ensuring further support of the system.
  • The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central at Hajster was supposed to be a pilot project with the subsequent implementation of the ERP solution in Sahara Group.

Implementation approach

Listening to the team's demands Heyster, the implementation project was built as follows: Innoware within the project, she acted as a key expert on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, a supplier of package solutions "IW Trade" and "IW HR&Payroll", as well as Ukrainian localization of the ERP system - IW Localization. Alternative Union of Business Automatizers provided training services and was responsible for methodological support for the project, and the team MSBC directly carried out the implementation project. The project manager from Hajster was Chief Accountant – Oleksandra Moiceenko, which provided the practical part of the design work based on the recommendations provided by Innoware and ASAB specialists.

Implemented functionality:

IW Trade

  • Procurement
  • Sales
  • Currency accounting
  • VAT Accounting
  • Complex production management
    – Production orders
    – Specifications and Routes
    – Production capacity
  • Financial accounting

IW HR & Payroll

  • Personnel accounting
  • Timekeeping
  • Salary calculation

Active phase of the implementation project "IW Trade"and «"IW HR&Payroll"» lasted 12 months.
Today the system works 4 users.
Salary calculation is done "in one click" for 20 employees Hajster company.

Project results

Constant communication between all teams involved in this project, the perseverance, high qualifications and responsibility of the project manager from Hajster, the transparency of processes and methodological support for implementation made it possible to successfully implement the new system into the work processes of the customer company.

Currently, cooperation between the companies continues: ASAB provides Hajster with system support services, and MSBC assists with subcontracting work.

Hajster has expanded its internal implementation team and plans to implement cellular warehouse and service functionality in 2026 as part of the continued development of the system.

«"Given the previous negative experience of working with one of Microsoft's partners, for me, as a specialist responsible for the project on the customer's side, it was fundamentally important to have direct contact with a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consultant during the implementation, rather than waiting several days for answers to my questions from chat bots.".

ASAB and MSBC specialists were in touch with me all the time, providing both technical support and the psychological support I needed during the learning phase of the system. Thanks to their active involvement and interest in the success of the project, the implementation became manageable and understandable.

I would also like to point out that since Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central has an audit trail, the approaches to accounting are different. Working in the system requires additional knowledge and readiness to correctly adjust the performed operations, when necessary.

In my opinion, the success of the implementation directly depends on the support of the implementation partner and the willingness of the internal team to learn new knowledge and approaches. I can say with confidence that in the absence of proper support and involvement from the accountants of the customer company, the implementation of such a project is impossible."», – Oleksandra Moiceenko, Chief Accountant of Hajster, shared her impressions of the completed project.

«"During implementation, it is important to consider the "psychological trap" when the customer's users perceive Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as a complete analogue of 1C/BAS and expect that the principles of work will remain unchanged. As a result: they try to reproduce familiar approaches, encounter difficulties and quickly become disappointed.

In fact, the key factor for successful implementation is understanding the philosophy of the new system. Only after the customer team has acquired knowledge and skills in working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, users will understand the logic of its operation and functional advantages. Therefore, from our point of view, an important component of the project is not only technical support, but also work with the customer team - assistance in adaptation, rethinking previous experience and changing approaches to work.

A separate role in the implementation of package solutions «"IW Finance+"»"IW Trade" and «"IW HR&Payroll"», plays a role in the willingness of key users of the customer, in particular accountants, to take responsibility for the results of the project: to master and accept work in the new system. Passing initial training allows you to assess the readiness of the customer team for changes: if at this stage future users understand that they are not ready to work in accordance with international accounting standards, it is better to determine this in advance before the start of the system implementation. After all, the successful implementation of such projects directly depends on the availability of time, motivation and involvement in the implementation of the customer team», – said Dmitry Anokhin, Technical Director at ASAB.
